12 m tapered aluminium flagpole, K114-177, Ø 177/76, standard hoisting system has the item number 8120.06 and is characterised by nominal height 12 m, standard hoisting system, tapered design. This version is available from 1.441,09 € incl. VAT.

12 m above ground – which means the pole is designed for prestigious locations, industrial sites and groups of poles. We recommend portrait flags of 600 to 850 cm in length, or landscape formats around 150 × 400 cm. The pole is set into a ground socket cast in concrete; the stated 12 m are the visible height above ground, so the overall length is correspondingly greater. You will find the matching foundation plan in the „Instructions“ tab. The standard hoisting system guides the rope on the outside of the pole and is straightforward to operate.

The conical pole tube is first-class in both elegance and stability. Over the bottom fifth of its total length it is cylindrical at first and then merges seamlessly into the conical taper. Because it tapers towards the pole head, wind pressure and suction are lower than with tubes that are cylindrical throughout. The external halyard with pulley and cleat is the standard hoisting device: affordable, robust and easy to operate. The high-grade alloy combined with the large tube cross-section ensures lasting stability. The anodised layer to Euras standard DIN 17611 (at least 20 micron layer thickness) guarantees a durable, attractive surface finish.

Equipment

  • Elegant top cap in silumin casting with integrated rope pulley
  • perlon halyard, Ø 5 mm, thimble crimped at both ends, stainless steel carabiner
  • cleat in cast aluminium, 160 mm

Technical data

Nominal height 12 m, total length 12 m, tube Ø 177 mm at the bottom, Ø 76 mm at the top

Stability

With a tilting mount, EN 1991-1-4/NA is met (fully stable)

Flag finishing

No special flag finishing is required. All common, freely flying types of flag up to a size of 1.5 x 5 m can be hoisted. The flag carabiners are hooked into the eyelets of the flag fabric holders.

  • additional and/or higher hole for the cleat
  • special sizes up to 22 m

This pole is supplied including the matching tilting mount.

Operation & maintenance The assembly and operating instructions supplied with the pole are authoritative. Do flagpoles need a foundation?
Yes, flagpoles should always have a foundation. As a rule, a ground socket is set in concrete and the flagpole is then simply inserted into it. This means the pole can easily be removed from the socket again at any time.
Which concrete is needed for the foundation?
Concrete C 25/30 – you will also find this information on the foundation plan. Concrete of grade C 25/30 is available from specialist suppliers (concrete plants, builders' merchants).
Do the foundation and the flagpole have to be installed by a specialist company?
With a little practical skill, any DIY enthusiast can install the foundation and the flagpole themselves following the instructions supplied. It is not strictly necessary for this to be done by a specialist company.
What is the difference between a tapered and a cylindrical flagpole?
A tapered flagpole narrows from bottom to top. For example, the lower diameter is 177 mm and the upper one 76 mm. On a cylindrical flagpole the diameter is the same throughout.
Which flag size do I need for which pole?
We recommend the following sizes:

Flags and banners, portrait format:
Nominal height in m Flag size in cm
5 80x200
6 100x300
7 150x350
8 100x400
9 120x500
10-12 larger

Hoisted flags, landscape format:
Nominal height in m Flag size in cm
5 120x80
6 150x120
7 180x120
8 200x120
9 225x150
10 250x150
12 300x200
Which wind zones are there, and which flagpoles are recommended in the different wind zones?

Germany is divided into four wind zones under DIN EN 1991-1-4/NA. What matters is the basic wind velocity vb,0 at your installation site:

Wind zonevb,0approx. equalstypical location
Wind zone 122.5 m/s81 km/hinland southern and central Germany
Wind zone 225.0 m/s90 km/hlarge parts of central and eastern Germany
Wind zone 327.5 m/s99 km/hinland northern Germany, coastal hinterland
Wind zone 430.0 m/s108 km/hNorth Sea and Baltic coasts and islands

Which wind zone applies to me? The classification follows the district or independent city. You will find the full map here:

What does the figure on the product page mean? In the technical data of our poles you will find a statement such as "without flag to DIN EN 1991-1-4/NA wind zone I". This is the structural verification of the pole tube – it states up to which wind zone the pole has been verified by calculation without a flag. This figure is not an exclusion criterion for higher wind zones, but the basis for the design.

I live in wind zone 2, 3 or 4 – what now? Then the configuration is decisive: the type of ground fixing (ground socket or tilting mount), foundation size, pole height and above all flag size. The same pole can often be used in a higher wind zone with a different fixing or a smaller flag. On several of our series, stability up to a nominal height of 9 m is provided as standard for wind zone 2 as well.

Please ask us: tell us the installation site (postcode), the pole height you want and the flag size – we will check suitability for your wind zone and tell you the right configuration. Telephone +49 9833 98894-0 or use our contact form.

Please note: stability at a specific site is always governed by the individual verification to DIN EN 1991-1-4/NA, taking into account terrain category, surrounding buildings and foundation. The flag must be taken down when a storm warning is issued.
