9 m aluminium flagpole, ZD100, Ø 100 mm, not hoistable, bracket/gallows arm has the item number 8115.19 and is characterised by nominal height 9 m, pole diameter 100 mm, outrigger, cylindrical design. The entry-level price is 575,96 € incl. VAT.

With 9 m of visible height above ground, the pole remains highly visible even across larger commercial sites and car parks. Portrait flags of between 450 and 650 cm in length suit this pole; in landscape format, sizes around 150 × 300 cm work well. The pole is installed in a ground socket cast in concrete; the stated 9 m remain visible above the foundation. The ground socket has to match the 100 mm diameter. You will find the matching foundation plan in the „Instructions“ tab. At 100 mm in diameter, the cylindrical tube is made of aluminium. The outrigger arm holds the flag clear of the pole so it stays readable even when there is no wind.

The most affordable of the bracket/gallows poles from the modular range of cylindrical pole tubes with a 100 mm diameter. To hoist the flag the pole has to be laid down, which we do not recommend. If available, the flag can be raised using a lifting platform or scaffolding. If you decide in favour of the ZD100, we strongly recommend installing a tilting mount.

Equipment

  • Pole tube (without groove)
  • elegant, rotatably mounted collar (rotor), maintenance-free, with a removable telescopic bracket in aluminium, silver anodised, Ø 25/20 mm, infinitely adjustable from 1.00 to 1.60 m
  • 4 flag slings
  • no riding up of the flag in gusts thanks to the flag weight on the lowest flag carabiner

Technical data

Nominal height 9.00 m, total length 9.80 m, D = 100 mm, telescopic bracket 100/160 cm, cylindrical pole tube without groove, silver anodised 20 my, 4 flag slings, flag weight

Flag finishing

Side tape with hooks. Hollow hem along the top edge of the fabric, Ø 30.00 mm, open on both sides. The topmost hook must be sewn on directly below the hollow hem. Hook spacing max. 1.00 m. Operation & maintenance The assembly and operating instructions supplied with the pole are authoritative. Visually inspect the rope, pulley, ground socket and pole base regularly, and additionally after a storm.

Does the flag turn?
Yes – 360° rotating outrigger on a rotor.
Do flagpoles need a foundation?
Yes, flagpoles should always have a foundation. As a rule, a ground socket is set in concrete and the flagpole is then simply inserted into it. This means the pole can easily be removed from the socket again at any time.
Which concrete is needed for the foundation?
Concrete C 25/30 – you will also find this information on the foundation plan. Concrete of grade C 25/30 is available from specialist suppliers (concrete plants, builders' merchants).
Do the foundation and the flagpole have to be installed by a specialist company?
With a little practical skill, any DIY enthusiast can install the foundation and the flagpole themselves following the instructions supplied. It is not strictly necessary for this to be done by a specialist company.
What are the advantages of an outrigger pole?
Your flag stays clearly "readable" even without wind. Its life expectancy is also higher than that of a flag left to flap about wildly.
Which flag size do I need for which pole?
We recommend the following sizes:

Flags and banners, portrait format:
Nominal height in m Flag size in cm
5 80x200
6 100x300
7 150x350
8 100x400
9 120x500
10-12 larger

Hoisted flags, landscape format:
Nominal height in m Flag size in cm
5 120x80
6 150x120
7 180x120
8 200x120
9 225x150
10 250x150
12 300x200
Which wind zones are there, and which flagpoles are recommended in the different wind zones?

Germany is divided into four wind zones under DIN EN 1991-1-4/NA. What matters is the basic wind velocity vb,0 at your installation site:

Wind zonevb,0approx. equalstypical location
Wind zone 122.5 m/s81 km/hinland southern and central Germany
Wind zone 225.0 m/s90 km/hlarge parts of central and eastern Germany
Wind zone 327.5 m/s99 km/hinland northern Germany, coastal hinterland
Wind zone 430.0 m/s108 km/hNorth Sea and Baltic coasts and islands

Which wind zone applies to me? The classification follows the district or independent city. You will find the full map here:

What does the figure on the product page mean? In the technical data of our poles you will find a statement such as "without flag to DIN EN 1991-1-4/NA wind zone I". This is the structural verification of the pole tube – it states up to which wind zone the pole has been verified by calculation without a flag. This figure is not an exclusion criterion for higher wind zones, but the basis for the design.

I live in wind zone 2, 3 or 4 – what now? Then the configuration is decisive: the type of ground fixing (ground socket or tilting mount), foundation size, pole height and above all flag size. The same pole can often be used in a higher wind zone with a different fixing or a smaller flag. On several of our series, stability up to a nominal height of 9 m is provided as standard for wind zone 2 as well.

Please ask us: tell us the installation site (postcode), the pole height you want and the flag size – we will check suitability for your wind zone and tell you the right configuration. Telephone +49 9833 98894-0 or use our contact form.

Please note: stability at a specific site is always governed by the individual verification to DIN EN 1991-1-4/NA, taking into account terrain category, surrounding buildings and foundation. The flag must be taken down when a storm warning is issued.
